Friday 10th July
Good morning Year 3!
I have no idea how we have arrived at our penultimate Friday together! This time next week, we will have broken up for the summer holidays!
I hope that you are keeping well and I am sure that you and your families are looking forward to some time without work or schooling together over the summer. I am looking forward to going camping with my family at our favourite campsite in Cornwall and I have even already booked our tickets to visit the Eden Project, which is quite possibly one of our favourite places in the world.
So, onto this morning's learning. I have uploaded below the SPaG task for this morning: you will be reading the final chapters of our pirate story this morning and then that is the end of our grammatical piratical adventure together this year! You will notice that the format is different to usual: I have finally realised that you can extract selected pages from a PDF and save them in a separate PDF! They do say you learn something new everyday, but it's a pity I didn't work this one out weeks ago! For your SPaG learning today, you will be using synonyms for 'said'. If you finish the sheet with time to spare, have a go at making a poster with as many different synonys for 'said' as you and your family can think of.
For maths, I was thinking of something a little different, particularly given that it is Friday and getting close to the end of term. You have been learning about mass and capacity this week in your White Rose home learning and there is no better way to understand mass and capacity than through practical learning. So, I would like you to choose a favourite recipe for something that you would like to bake (either sweet or savoury) and put your measuring skills to use! If you are on the blog today, maybe you can pop on and tell me what you are planning to bake?
Have a wonderful day and I will be available on the Year 3 blog at 10.00 and again at 2.00 to say hello to as many of you as can join me.
Mrs Clay :)
