Science at Holy Family School

At Holy Family School we teach Science by encouraging an interest in the environment and a questioning approach. Learning in Science is conducted in a spirit of enquiry where ideas are valued and where there is opportunity for practical investigation. Science is presented in a relevant context.

All age ranges and abilities take part in scientific activity, the children, where possible, handling the materials. The value of this first-hand sensory experience is emphasized, as is the fostering of the enjoyment of exploration, manipulation, comparison, discussion and testing – we believe these are the living roots of science.
