Wednesday 1st April
Good morning Year 5- Happy Hump Day and it's April Fools Day! I wonder why it's called April Fool's Day- email me if you find out.
Remember it is very important that you complete the maths and English that I have set for you on this page. Some of you still haven't completed the SPAG I set on Monday.
Let's jump into Wednesday by starting the day with Joe Wicks!
I would like you to start your work this morning with Handwriting. You have your Handwriting books and I have attached your handwriting sheet below, it is your spelling words.
Maths- Today we are going to recap percentages. Watch the video for Lesson 3- Understand Percentages. Then complete the activity.
I have added a page of questions at the bottom of this message for you if you have time. I know that some of you find the video and activity enough maths for one day. The page at the bottom is for anyone who has some extra time to do some more maths.
English.
Read the next Chapter of Street Child.
Pick out 5 words that are new vocabulary and look up their meaning in a dictionary. Then write your own sentence for each of the words.
Next write a summary of this chapter. You can use bullet points to list the things that have happened. Then see if you can summarise the chapter in 200 words.
Don't forget every day at 11am, you can listen one of David Walliams’ World’s Worst Children stories. So sit down, take a break, and enjoy 20ish minutes of pure fun by clicking here!
I'll set you some question on our blog- make sure you read the answers that everyone else puts- it's a good way to interact with your friends at school.
Some of you have sent some lovely pictures of your home learning. Look at our gallery, I have added a new album, home learning!
Keep working hard- enjoy some lovely sunshine today, I was pleased to see it back.
Lots of love,
Mrs O'Neil
