Wednesday 25th March
Good morning Year 5- Happy Hump Day!
Let's jump into Wednesday by starting the day with Joe Wicks!
I would like you to start your work this morning with Handwriting. You have your Handwriting books and I have attached your handwriting sheet below, it is your spelling words.
Maths- Today we are going to recap decimals as fractions. Watch the video for lesson 3 in the link on the link on the right hand side of this page- related links. If you need to you can watch the video a couple of times.
Then complete the task questions. I can't add them to our page at the moment as the school network is blocking them, you will find them in the link on the right after the video. The answers are for your parents.
I have added a page of questions at the bottom of this message for you to do in your Maths book. Complete as many as you can.
English.
Write a letter to Grimy Nick explaining how you feel about living and working with him on The Lily. Tell him about your family and some of the things that happened to you before you met him. Write it in first person as Jim. Think about the sentences that you are writing, making sure you start each sentence in a different way. Start at least three sentences with an abstract noun. An abstract noun, is a noun that you can't see or touch, usually feelings. You could start sentences like this:
Bravery floods through me every time I see you...
Happiness reminds me of my family...
Anger burns my cheeks...
Every day at 11am, you can listen one of David Walliams’ World’s Worst Children stories. So sit down, take a break, and enjoy 20ish minutes of pure fun by clicking here!
I have added the next chapter and questions to our 2do list on Purple Mash so enjoy some quiet reading later. I have added some other tasks for you to do as well.
This afternoon complete one of the tasks in your ARTist Challenge booklet.
I'll set you some question on our blog- make sure you read the answers that everyone else puts- it's a good way to learn about your friends. I learnt lots yesterday morning about you all.
Keep working hard- enjoy some lovely sunshine today.
Lots of love,
Mrs O'Neil
