Good morning Year 6,

Welcome to Wednesday! It’s the middle of the week and Mrs Ferryman and I have lots of learning for you to do today. Thank you for sharing some of your excellent tone and shade activities from yesterday. If you are proud of your work, please try to upload to your one drive if you can.

Here are today’s activities

Early work – Spag Ninja from learning pack – mark your own and highlight any wrong answers. You should be well underway with this booklet now and hopefully you are getting more questions right every time!

Maths- LO –  I can divide decimals by 10, 100 and 1000 Following from yesterday’s lesson, I will work through some examples with you before you work independently. If you want to use the video to help you as you work, click here . If you want to use the place value tool we used yesterday, click here. Then go on to textbook page 55 and choose level of learning. The answers are in the class one drive so that you can mark your work. If you get stuck, try the worksheet 2 at the bottom of this page.

English – You will need your geography work from last week for this task. You will be planning a paragraph for your Addlestone writing. There are instructions at the bottom of this page. When you have drafted your paragraph, please edit and check it very carefully before uploading to the one drive for me to see.

Science – You will need your Purple Mash login and the Animal Photo sheet which is below.  In Science this week we are going to build on our learning from last week by classifying animals according to their characteristics. You will need to use your knowledge of different animals (where they live, what they eat, whether they are mammals, reptiles etc) and to conduct your own research in order to create a scientifically correct branching database. This will prepare us for next week when we learn more about the classification system used by taxonomists. I will show you an example to help you out.
