Slovakian Savoury Snacks
You will need:
puff pastry, passata (or tomato sauce), sliced ham, cheese (sliced or grated), oregano, egg, flour.

Roll out the puff pastry with a rolling pin. Dust with a little flour to prevent sticking. Spread some passata (or tomato sauce) onto the pastry. Top it with slices of ham and cheese (I like to use Edam). Sprinkle with oregano.

Carefully roll up your pastry to make a cylinder. Cut it into smaller pieces (approximately 2cm wide). Then place onto a tray lined with baking paper.

You can make your pastries into any shape you like. I like to make them into ‘snails’, ‘butterflies’ or just ‘sticks’.

Before you place them in the oven, whisk the egg with a fork and then brush all over the pastry.

Bake in the oven until golden.
