Week 2

Our chicks are growing rapidly and are learning new skills each day...

Now the chicks were fully dried out, and we could see their colours clearly, we knew that there were five boys (cockerels) and five girls (hens). It was time to name the chicks. The children wrote two names each, and we picked the names out of a hat. Our wonderful names are...

We made a large run for the chicks on the carpet using our giant LEGO blocks. We opened up the brooder box for them to run around and stretch their legs - they loved it!

  

  

We each got to handle the chicks. They felt soft, warm and fluffy...

         

We have been writing in our chick journals. Each day, we record what has happened...

         

We said goodbye to the chicks on Thursday. Farmer Kevin collected the to return them to the farm to be Mother Hen. We have had the most wonderful 10 days with the chicks and will have happy memories for many years to come.
